Ada's Airship
Ada's Airship is a short animated film I worked on in my final year at Griffith. I was the background artist, as well as the production manager. I can best describe the film as a steampunk adventure centering around the acquisition of airships, and a protagonist who's like the female Captain Jack Sparrow. Below is one of the first images I produced, attempting to find the tone and style of the dirigibles.
As the environments in the film were quite complicated, I modeled the most recurring ones in Maya and Google Sketchup as a reference for myself and others.
I also worked on storyboards and layouts. Unfortunately there where many sequences which had to be cut for time. The first was a sequence I boarded which was a montage of the main character, Ada, braving various ancient tombs and eventually reaching the city with a pack full of treasure.
This next scene made it to the layout phase. It's a chase scene played out with a steam-powered elevator.
Soften the F*ck Up
Soften the F*ck Up is an initiative created by Spur Projects to battle depression in men. I helped produce a 45 second animated ad as part of the campaign. I originally created a pitch for the ad as part of a uni assignment, which I was then called upon to develop further for Lee Crockford, the CEO of Spur. After a number of rewrites, I produced a script, animatic, and character designs which another team took on. And yes, that's my voice.
